The Blue Ribbon Project welcomes Erika Ford to it's Board of Directors.

The Blue Ribbon Project recently announced the addition of Erika Ford as an Officer to it's Board of Directors. Erika brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with her to the organization. Erika is a licensed certified social worker- clinical (LCSW-C) currently serving as a Faculty Field Instructor with Family Connections in Baltimore City. Here she helps support Social Work graduate students in their professional and educational development and understanding of the child welfare system.

erika ford imageIn her previous role as the Foster/Adoptive Parent Recruitment and Retention Specialist with the Anne Arundel County Department of Social Services, Erika served as a liaison between BRP and AACODSS in an effort to best serve local foster/adoptive parents and youth experiencing foster care. She has been actively engaged with The Blue Ribbon Project since 2017 participating in everything from Backpacks of Love, Mirah's Closet, Aging Up Not Out, to the events team, and more. Erika also designed and continues to offer Blue Ribbon's Trauma & Resilience: What's Your Role? training. She has served on the Leadership team since 2020.

Erika is a graduate of Messiah College and received her Masters in Social Work from the University of Maryland Baltimore. She is passionate about race equity, child welfare, and the empowerment of families.

Erika is also passionate about her newest role as mom to her newborn son who she and her husband welcomed in November of 2020!
