Paige serves as The Blue Ribbon Project's Director of Communications and Public Affairs. She has been active with The Blue Ribbon Project since 2015, when the "offices" were a tiny annex building with barely enough room for 3 or 4 people to work.
Paige has been an elementary school Music teacher (grades K-5) in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, for fifteen years. Prior to that, she worked in computer consulting, tech/marketing writing, property management, and child care. She moved to Maryland's Eastern Shore in 2010 after spending 15 years on the other side of the Bay Bridge.
Paige completed her master's degree in reading in 2014. She has been happily married for nearly 25 years and has a beautiful 21-year-old daughter who is also active with The Blue Ribbon Project.
Paige's work with The Blue Ribbon Project has included assisting with Speak Up . . . Speak Out presentations; organizing donations and building Backpacks of Love; delivering backpacks to other counties for them to distribute as needed; staffing the information table at various events in and around Annapolis, Maryland; giving tours and informational chats at our facilities during our annual open house; creating marketing materials; posting on social media; writing blogs, running Leadership Team meetings; and advocating for both The Blue Ribbon Project itself and the children we serve in private settings and in group presentations.
In Paige's job as a teacher, she sees children whose home lives range from idyllic to the opposite end of the spectrum. She has worked with children dealing with mental health and emotional issues as well as those coping with trauma. Working with The Blue Ribbon Project gives Paige an opportunity to make a difference for at least some of those children. She is excited to be part of Blue Ribbon Project's Leadership Team, working to make a difference for abused and foster children.
