Taylor Pyles

Tom "Taylor" Pyles is a child abuse survivor and the founder The Blue Ribbon Project. He has been a police officer with Annapolis Police Department for over a decade and is assigned as a Detective in the Criminal Investigations Section.  When not working, you'll find him spending time with his family and out enjoying the countryside on two wheels. 

Maryland officials are taking steps to create a more welcoming foster-care system for gay, bisexual and transgender children and adolescents, including screening homes for possible bias and providing sensitivity training to case workers.

The policy directive issued this month by the state Department of Human Resources prohibits conversion therapy and urges foster parents of transgender children to call them by their preferred pronouns and to allow them to dress and groom accordingly.

My husband, Jason and I have been Foster Parents since March 2014. We do not have any biological children, but we finally were able to adopt our two foster children in April 2016. Currently I am a stay at home Mom. Prior I worked for SRMA managering ore school care and the Maryland Watermans Association, a non-profit, as the Office Manager/Executive Director for over 5 years. I am also the treasurer for the Anne Arundel County Foster Parent Association. With the Blue Ribbon Project, I facilitate many of the Volunteer Days and work with various community organizations in donation drives. I am also on the Board of Directors with The Blue Ribbon Project and serve as Board Secretary.

Stacy McCormack grew up in Anne Arundel County where she attended Meade High School. She graduated cum laude from the University of Baltimore School of Law and holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland. She remains a big Terp fan and tries to catch as many football, basketball, lacrosse games as she can. She loves coaching and can often be found (and heard) on the sidelines of her kids’ games. She is never without her Coca-Cola and hanging out with her family.

The Blue Ribbon Project was founded by Tom "Taylor" Pyles. Taylor entered a career of broadcast radio after graduating high school. In 2003, Taylor joined the Annapolis Police Department in communications capacity. He later was hired as a sworn officer within the department. In 2010, Taylor moved from the Patrol Division to take a position within the Criminal Investigations Division. Taylor primarily investigates violent crimes and any crimes against children. He is also a volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocate with Anne Arundel County, working as an advocate in the court system for children in foster care.

Independent Counsel in the Monica Lewinsky investigation. Andy has over 25 years of  experience trying civil and criminal cases of all kinds. He has coordinated hundreds of
complex federal criminal investigations and has tried over 400 state and federal criminal trials, including over 30 federal jury trials.

The internal injuries of a 6-week-old girl who died in January must have been caused by physical trauma inflicted after she was born, a pediatrician testified at a hearing Tuesday for a former University of Tulsa football player who is charged with child-abuse murder.
