History has shown us that many people who suffer from mental illness turn to drugs and alcohol as a means to self medicate, to tolerate feelings they believe to be intolerable. The problem here is self medicating rarely works in the long run and usually results in a person facing addiction or alcoholism.

People who are gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) represent a substantial minority of the U.S. population, yet pervasive prejudice and stigma often inhibit the development and provision of appropriate drug rehab and dual diagnosis services for them.

There are two types of drug rehab programs, inpatient drug detox programs and outpatient drug rehab programs. While the outpatient drug detox program certainly might appear more convenient, we are looking for results not convenience.
