The Blue Ribbon Project was initially founded in 2012/2013 as a means to support Adult Survivors of abuse. Our founder, Taylor Pyles, founded The Blue Ribbon Project after seeing the negative outcomes of those that he grew up in foster care with. As adults, there were a myriad of issues with his peers, from mental health issues, suicides, drug addiction, homelessness, incarceration, as well as other lifelong impacts. It was after losing 5 foster siblings in a matter of months that Taylor decided he wanted to assist adult survivors of abuse. This was the very foundation of The Blue Ribbon Project and has led to its expansion in the years following.

The Blue Ribbon Project’s Mission is not only to raise awareness regarding child abuse but also to provide a variety of resources to abused and neglected children as well as youth in Foster Care. To this end, The Blue Ribbon Project has developed a youth advocacy program titled “A Hand To Hold Youth Alliance Program”. This program is designed to meet the needs of abused children in a variety of areas. This program is not designed to replace other youth mentoring programs, nor is it intended to replace or duplicate the role of a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA).
