The Blue Ribbon Project is currently seeking dedicated individuals to be a part of it's Leadership Team and work specifically with our Backpacks of Love and Mirah's Closet Programs. Backpacks of Love are backpacks that contain emergency essentials for children who have to be removed from an abusive or neglectful environment. Backpacks of Love are age and gender specific and cover newborns to 17 years of age. A Backpack of Love is delivered to the child when they are being removed for their safety and prior to entering a foster home or placement. Mirah's Closet continues this support by working to meet the continuing need of these children. Foster Children and Youth visit Mirah's Closet and "Shop" for free for any essential items and ongoing needs. This includes items from seasonal clothing to toiletries to toys & books.

The Blue Ribbon Project desperately needs your help! As you may know, our Backpacks of Love program serves abused and neglected children in our community by providing them emergency essentials the moment they have to be removed from an abusive or dangerous environment. These Backpacks of Love truly make a difference in a child's life by offering them hope and comfort as they are going through a very traumatic time in their life. While we regularly receive great donations to support this program, we are constantly running short on necessary clothing items to meet the need of youth and children entering care. It's difficult to think that we can't always meet the needs to help these youth. This is where we need your help. At the moment, we desperately need clothing items to go into our Backpacks of Love.

The Blue Ribbon Project is currently seeking dedicated individuals to be a part of it's Leadership Team. The Blue Ribbon Project Leadership Team participates in a variety of events and works to support our mission in helping abused and neglected children in our community. It is the Leadership Team that guides the organization and works in the daily operations of our various programs.
Volunteering is an incredible important part of our society and affords people the opportunity to really give back to their community and make a huge difference in the lives of others. Since the founding of The Blue Ribbon Project, that "community approach" to supporting children in our community who are neglected and abused has been an important principle. The Blue Ribbon Project is a 100% volunteer organization, even up to the executive director. It is the hard work of volunteers that truly make a difference in the lives of children and we need your help to continue to build and to further our mission to help these kids. Through this hard work by volunteers, The Blue Ribbon Project has grown from one county in Maryland to covering multiple counties in Maryland.
The Blue Ribbon Project currently has an opening for a Volunteer Coordinator. This volunteer position plays an important role in our organization by helping to manage others that wish to volunteer for The Blue Ribbon Project. This is a great opportunity to help build our volunteer program from the "ground up". The Volunteer Coordinator position, while volunteer, would be the same as a Management or Leadership position. The Volunteer Coordinator works very closely with other members of The Blue Ribbon Project. This is a team effort and you would be a big part of that team. We all support each other to further the mission of assisting these children in our community. We also know that life happens and it’s oftentimes difficult fill a fully volunteer position. We will work with you on a flexible, as needed, basis.
The Blue Ribbon Project is a 100% volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit community organization based in Annapolis, Maryland. We are committed to both the prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect and as a support network for youth in Foster Care, adult survivors of child abuse and child sexual assault. The realities of child abuse is not an easy subject and it takes a special person to work in this field. It isn’t for everyone (and that’s OK). Our staff members, including the Volunteer Coordinator, must have a strong passion for the mission of The Blue Ribbon Project.\
