Blue Ribbon Project Monthly Supporter

Would you like to help abused and neglected children in our community without breaking the bank? Making a small contribution over time is an easy and affordable way to make a valuable difference in the lives of the most vulnerable among us...abused and neglected children.

The Blue Ribbon Project has a goal of 100 supporters who would like to become monthly supporters of only $10.00 per month. Your contribution goes to supporting multiple programs offered by The Blue Ribbon Project:

  • Backpacks of Love: These are backpacks containing emergency essential items for children the moment they have to be removed from an abusive environment. Each Backpack of Love contains such essentials as new clothing, pajamas, toothbrush/toothpaste, body wash, a small toy, and other items. Each Backpack of Love is age and gender specific, covering newborns up to youth 17 years of age. These Backpacks of Love are provided to the child immediately upon removal and prior to entering a foster home.

  • Foster Friends: This program provides additional resources to youth that are in foster care to provide opportunities that would not normally be afforded to them. This can include purchasing things such as sports equipment, sending sibling groups to camp, paying for extracurricular activities, paying for Karate class for a foster youth. This program also supports a variety of group events for foster youth, such as bowling, holiday parties, and various events throughout the year.

  • Youth Mentorship Program: The Blue Ribbon Project is currently developing a mentorship program for abused and neglected children. The mentor will work with the youth in a variety of ways. Our Youth Mentorship Program shows these youth that there is someone who cares about them, assures them they are not alone in dealing with day-to-day challenges, and makes them feel like they matter. This program is designed to assure quality mentoring relationships that have powerful positive effects on young people in a variety of personal, academic, and professional situations. Ultimately, this connects the youth to personal growth and development, and social and economic opportunity.

  • Aging Up...Not Out: This program is a life skills program for both foster youth and children served by Department of Social Services. This program teaches critical life skills such as job applications and career building, basic budgeting, healthy living, and other positive encouragement of skills. This helps to ensure high school graduation, healthier relationships and lifestyle choices, better attitude about school, college preparation, help enhance self-esteem and self-confidence, improve interpersonal skills, decreased likelihood of initiating drug and alcohol use, and decreased homelessness.

For only $10.00 a month, you can make a difference in the lives of abused and neglected children in our community.  The Blue Ribbon Project is a 100% Volunteer organization so your generous donation goes directly back into serving these children. The Blue Ribbon Project has additional programs as well.
