The Blue Ribbon Project is a 100% Volunteer organization and many of our Backpacks of Love rely on donations from within the community. We are in need of volunteers to assist with various tasks and have set up Volunteer Days where groups or individuals can come in and help out. It is a great "hands on" experience to get involved building backpacks.
- Sorting New Donations: Donations come in a variety of methods. We need help sorting incoming individual donated items and placing them in their proper bins.
- Checking Donated Backpacks: Many of our donations come in the form of donated backpacks that are complete or almost complete. We manually check each donated backpack to ensure that all needed items are included and to check for any inappropriate items.
- Building Backpacks of Love: Taking donated and purchasing items and building Backpacks of Love backpacks from scratch.
Joining us on our Volunteer Days is a great way to make friends and to meet others with an interest in helping children in the community. Students can also earn their required community service credits for the time they help out.
