The Blue Ribbon Project Leadership Team

The Blue Ribbon Project is currently seeking dedicated individuals to be a part of it's Leadership Team. The Blue Ribbon Project Leadership Team participates in a variety of events and works to support our mission in helping abused and neglected children in our community. It is the Leadership Team that guides the organization and works in the daily operations of our various programs.

leadership teamThe Blue Ribbon Project Leadership Team is a collection of individuals who bring unique knowledge and skills which complement the mission of The Blue Ribbon Project and help move the organization forward. The Blue Ribbon Project Leadership Team guides the organization, helps develop new programs, and refine current programs. Each member of the Leadership Team works with a particular program of their choosing (or multiple programs if they choose). The Leadership Team also participates in various events, including fundraisers, presentations, demonstrations, and events for foster youth. The Leadership Team is a great opportunity for those that wish to regularly be involved in helping abused and neglected children and to be an integral part of our growing organization.

The Leadership Team is a volunteer team that guides The Blue Ribbon Project. We ask that members are able to dedicate approximately 10 hours per month that can be shared between programs. Leadership Team Leaders need not have direct knowledge or experience with Child Abuse but can bring personal and professional experience and skills to the forefront and be part of a great team. Members should have a passion to helping abused and neglected children and working with the community. We are currently seeking assistance with the following programs.

  • Backpacks of Love & Mirah's Closet: The Blue Ribbon Project is currently seeking dedicated individuals to be a part of  our Backpacks of Love Program and a part of Mirah's Closet. Backpacks of Love and Mirah's Closet, while separate program, work closely together. Our Backpacks of Love are backpacks that contain emergency essentials for children who have to be removed from an abusive or neglectful environment. Backpacks of Love are age and gender specific and cover newborns to 17 years of age. These Backpacks of Love are provided to children the moment a decision is made that they must be placed into foster care. Backpacks of Love help meet the need of children the moment they are entering foster care. Mirah's Closet helps to meet the continuing need of these children. Foster Children and Youth visit Mirah's Closet and "Shop" for free for any essential items and ongoing needs. This includes items from seasonal clothing to toiletries to toys & books.  For more information on working with Backpacks of Love and Mirah's Closet, Please  --CLICK HERE--

Leadership Team members that participate in this program help host and lead monthly activities involving Foster Children and Youth. These events are hosted at The Blue Ribbon Project or at outside venues. Leadership Team members work with foster children in a variety of activities and work to ensure their safety and comfort in a group setting. • Community Outreach: The Blue Ribbon Project is currently seeking individuals to work with our Community Outreach Team.
